Lieutenant Wrixon, of the 21st Fusiliers 1844

Colonial Times Hobart, Tas.
9 April 1844

DIED.—At Kante, Madras Presidency, on the 15th September, Lieutenant Wrixon, of the 21st Fusiliers, son of Captain Nicholas Wrixon,  Cork, in the 22nd year of his age.
He died of fever.

The feeling of regret and sorrow for his premature decease is universal through the regiment, and is painfully felt by all his brother officers, by whom he was held in the highest estimation for his manly virtues, and estimable qualities.

He was buried with military honours, and his funeral was attended to the grave by the Brigadier and all the officers of the large force there stationed.

He was borne to his last home, at their own particular request, by the soldiers of the company formerly commanded by his father, accompanied by those of his own.
