WEDDING IN LITHGOW
A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Paul’s Church, Lithgow, on Saturday afternoon, by the Rev. D. H. Dillon, when Vera, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Thorn, was married to Percy, youngest son of Mr. Dalton, of Bendigo, Victoria.
The bride, who looked charming in a dress of cream voile trimmed with appliqué and silver braid, was given away by her father. She also wore the customary wreath and veil, kindly lent by her aunt, Mrs. H. Prior.
The bridesmaids were Miss Ruby Alexander (who wore a dress of white muslin with Valenciennes insertion, hat to match), Little Miss Ivy Thorn, and Miss Lily Davison (who wore white embroidered Empire frocks and pale blue ribbon).
The bridegroom’s presents were a gold brooch to the bride, and gold brooches and gold bangles to the bridesmaids. Mr. W. Chenhall acted as best man.
After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where the usual toasts were honoured.
The happy couple left by the mail train for Bathurst, where they will spend the honeymoon. The bride’s travelling dress was of pale blue Sicilienne, with hat to match. They are to reside in Lithgow.
